Cuban stories. Cuban music. Cuban cigars. Do you detect a pattern here?
Come out this Saturday evening, March 10 for our event “Cuba: From Us to You.”
As I’ve done when returning from other countries, I’ll present photos & footage, stories & takeaways from my recent travels through this provocative and alluring nation. But this time around, I’ll be joined by my Cuba guide, Hanna Kuluvar Esparza. So expect to have fulfilled all your curiosities about life in this country–so close to the U.S., yet so far away.
After the presentation, it’ll be time to kick back to some Cuban music. Feel like dancing? Want to learn? Well, after a couple of rum drinks you might (available at the bar). Surrounding the dance floor will be an exhibit of Cuban art. There’ll be giveaways and a silent auction for items including Cuban rum, a travel voucher, museum tickets, and yes, those Cuban cigars. I brought home a box of some sweet Monte Cristo torpedo tips. For those wanting to light up at the event, smoking will be made comfortable out on the patio thanks to the fine folks at the Black Forest Inn who’ll provide a heat lamp in case Old Man Winter is stubborn.
The event if free of charge. We’ll have a donation jar set up to compensate for space rental and other expenses.
In all, this’ll be a night of learning about Cuba while enjoying some of its finer pleasures. We hope to enjoy it with you. Learn more with the flyer below, or click here to see the Facebook event page.
