Back in ’01 (2001, that is), old outdoorsman Richard Ferdig finally got his chance to bag a caribou in Alaska. Just one hour into his first day out, he downed a small bull.
But on his way back to camp to get the sled to haul his kill, he and hunting partner Roy saw a big mama grizzly with two cubs emerge from woods and head toward the caribou.
Hear Richard tell the story in this week’s post–a video of me interviewing him at his home in Blackduck, Minnesota.
